A child abuse accused was killed in an alleged encounter with police in Ferozewala police limits on Wednesday.
Haroon, 22, was arrested by the CIA police for abducting and raping seven minor girls in different areas of the city. The swabs of the accused were taken and after forensic and DNA examination, it was confirmed that the suspect had raped seven minor girls after abducting them.
A police officer said the suspect used to lure minor girls to deserted places to sexually assault them. A police party was carrying the suspect to the place where he had committed the offence when he allegedly attempted to snatch a rifle from a policeman when the weapon accidently went off, which caused the death of the accused on the spot.
BIKE THIEVES ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested five members of a thief gang and recovered 15 bikes from them. SP Cantt Investigation Ismail Kharak addressing to a press conference at Factory Area police station said that after taking notice of vehicles theft cases, police teams were constituted to arrest the thieves and recover the vehicles. He said after receiving information a police team raided a house in Factory area police jurisdiction and recovered 15 motorcycles and arrested five suspected thieves including a woman. The thieves were identified as ringleader Khurram Yasin and his accomplices Akram, Asif, Ahmed and Shahnaz. He said the gang was operating in cantonment area.
The SP said the police unearthed the gang after arresting Ahmed and his sister who were transporting a bike to Renala Khurd and during investigation they confessed to transporting more than 100 bikes from year 2009 to July 2015. He said the suspects were record holders and already served imprisonments in bike stealing cases.
Held for power theft: Gujranwala FIA team under the supervision of Khalid Anis, FIA Deputy Director, led by inspector Ghulam Hasnain Khan conducted a raid at Kamal Factory at GT Road, Gujrat and recovered electricity theft on Wednesday. The team found that consumer Ghulam Mustafa was allegedly involved in power theft through earth wire on and off switch.
It was also transpired that two connections of 50-kilowatt transforms were installed on the same premises. One connection in the name of Fazal Hussain illegal shifted to the premises without ownership of Fazal Hussain and no MDI had been charged from the consumer since 2011. The team discovered that the same consumer was also running another factory. Two connections in the name of Sharif and Umar Farooq installed with sanction load of 4-KW and 23-KW without any ownership of property. Both the connections were connected with load 38-KW and no MDI had been charged since 2007.
Consumer Ghulam Mustafa was arrested. Meanwhile, Gujranwala FIA conducted another raid and arrested the most wanted human trafficker Khalid Mehmood placed in Red Book 2015 at Serial No 40. According to FIA, the accused was involved in cases 226/15,725/14.
