‘Economic stability not possible with political instability’

KARACHI: The nation elected Imran Khan considering him an expert in running the affairs of the country but, unfortunately, he considers himself as a sit-in expert only.

This was stated by Chief of Pak Sarzameen Party, Syed Mustafa Kamal, while commenting on the premier’s remarks. He said the remarks by the prime minister against the opposition leaders have led to a constitutional crisis. The appointment of the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan and other important state issues have been ignored because the prime minister is not on speaking terms with the opposition leaders.

Kamal said economic stability is not possible during the prevailing political instability. “The effects of statements and attitude of the PTI government ministers, including the prime minister, have a direct bearing on the public.” India is inflicting the greatest cruelty in human history on Kashmiris in the Indian-occupied Kashmir, he said, and the government merely expresses solidarity by observing Kashmir Hour against the expectations of the Kashmiris. Kamal said the Indian generals are defending use of rape as a weapon against Kashmiri women and there is no effective response from the Pakistani government.

Commenting about MQM founder Altaf Hussain requesting political asylum from India, the PSP chief said it is the result of the PSP’s efforts that he no longer reflects the sentiments of the Muhajir community. “Thank God, we told the nation about him [Altaf Hussain] three years ago and Allah has proved us right.”
