‘LHC decision govt victory’: Fawad says doesn’t agree with AG’s claim
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said he does not agree with Attorney General for Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar that the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision allowing Nawaz Sharif’s travel abroad was a victory of the government stance.
Speaking in Geo News programme ‘Aj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath’ on Monday, he said the federal cabinet had made a balanced decision of getting indemnity bond from Nawaz for removing his name from the exit control list (ECL). However, the decision could not beimplemented and the LHc let the Sharifs go abroad only on the basis of an assurance.
The minister said whatever Prime Minister Imran Khan said in his Havelian speech on Monday was, in fact, the voice of people. Through his aggressive speech, the actual stance of Premier Imran had been revived. He said the way Nawaz case was settled by the court did not bring any goodwill to the country as it strengthened the general public perception that there are two Pakistan: one for the powerful and the other for the poor.
