Punjab Women Development Minister Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said the Punjab government is making efforts for the protection of women rights and effective steps are being taken for empowering them.
She expressed these views while inaugurating a daycare centre at Government College for Women, Jand. Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din said the Punjab government has allocated huge funds for women rights in the budget which will be spent on education, social development and other works. She said secret of the country’s development lies in the development of women.
Earlier, she inaugurated the daycare centre. She said daycare centre is essential for the staff working in the college and such daycare centres are being set up throughout the province. MPA Malik Zafar Iqbal, MPA Malik Shahwaiz Khan, DCO, Attock, Ch Habib Ullah, AC Jand Aamir Shaheen Ranja, staff of the college, female students and a large number of electronic and print media were present. Later, a briefing was given by Community Development Department regarding Punjab women empowerment package. Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din appreciated the district administration on launching a campaign for creating awareness about women rights.
