More rains, urban flooding in Lahore likely

LAHORE: Widespread rain-thundershower with scattered heavy falls in next 48 hours that may generate flooding in the provincial metropolis.
Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending northeastwards. Strong Monsoon currents are penetrating into central and upper parts of the country and likely to continue with variable intensity during next few days.
Over 63mm rain was measured in Lahore over the past 24 hours which caused rainwater accumulation at various places. Model Town, Garden Town, Wahdat Colony, Gowalmandi Chowk, Garhi Shahu Chowk, Davis Road, Railway Station, Shadbagh, Misri Shah, Neela Gumbad Chowk, Kashmir Road, Outfall Road, GPO Chowk, Chauburji, Samanabad, Sultanpura, Mughalpura, Shahdara, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Township, Faisal Town, Green Town, Garden Town, Gulberg, Kahna, Mozang, Saadi Park, Anarkali, Walled City, Brandreth Road and Naulakha were among the most affected localities.
The residents of Fateh Garh, Mughalpura, Khokhar Road, Amir Road, Sham Nagar, Ravi Road, Garhi Shahu, Badami Bagh, Shadbagh, Misri Shah, Wasanpura, Goal Bagh and Mughalpura were hit hard by the rain.
In the next 24 hours, widespread rain thundershower is expected in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, D.G Khan Divisions, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Scattered rain thundershower in KP (Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, D.I Khan), Punjab (Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan Divisions), while isolated in Malakand, Zhob, Sibbi, Quetta, Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad divisions. Isolated heavy falls is also expected in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and D.G Khan Divisions.
Other parts of the country where it rained were Islamabad (Golra, Bokra, Saidpur), Okara, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, D.G Khan, Risalpur, Bahawalnagar, Malamjaba, Murree, Bahawalpur City, Joharabad, Rawalakot, Kot Addu, Sahiwal, Layyah, Chakwal, Muzaffarabad, Kakul, D.I Khan, Shorkot, Bahawalpur (A/P), Balakot, Rawalpindi (Chaklala, Shamsabad), Garhi Dupatta, Noorpur Thal, Sargodha, Parachinar, Saidu Sharif, Barkhan, Kasur, Lahore A/P, Jhang, Kotli, RY Khan, Jhelum, Khanpur and Dir.
