IMF package halal for Opposition, haram for govt: Firdous

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Tuesday reacted strongly to the opposition criticism on the IMF package, saying if they go to IMF, they say, it is halal (permissible) and if the PTI government does so, then it is haram (forbidden).

She advised the opposition to desist from giving dictation to the government, as the incumbent government would do all that would be in the interest of the people and Pakistan.

Referring to the PML-N leaders’ hard-hitting news conference earlier in the day, the special assistant alleged that the tongues of opposition leaders and spokesmen were mortgaged to their corrupt leaders, as they speak through their tongues.

She claimed that the PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was a puppet prime minister, whom she advised to think about Pakistan and not about the Sharif family.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan called on Abbasi to explain to the nation as to why the Pakistan International Airlines ran into losses while the Air Blue ran into profit. “Accountability can be carried out only by those, whose hands are clean, otherwise to bring back Asif Zardari’s wealth stashed abroad, was promised by his masters as well,” she emphasised.
