Rawalpindi A workshop on 'Liver Cancer Treatment' was held in Holy Family Hospital, here on Thursday which was participated by teaching faculty, medical graduates, students and paramedics, says a press release. Chairman Board of Management (BoM), Dr. Muhammad Aslam was the chief guest while Principal of Rawalpindi Medical College Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar, Professor Mati Ullah Jan, Medical Superintendent Holy Family Hospital Dr. Arshad Ali and hospital staff attended the workshop. The BoM chairman appreciated capacity development programmes and training modules of Rawalpindi Medical College and said that liver cancer is a fatal disease which needs to be addressed properly by increasing medical treatment facilities as well has enhancing competency of professionals. RMC Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar briefed about the workshop and informed that continued medial education is in progress in RMC and all teaching hospitals. He said that up gradation of HDU in Holy Family Hospital was a dedicated effort of Professor Mati Ullah, which will facilitate patients. The liver cancer experts deliberated on various aspects of liver cancer and shared their experiences and treatment methods. Later, Dr. Muhammad Asl-am inaugurated HDU ward in Holy Family Hospital. Dr. Muhammad Aslam appreciated the efforts of Professor Dr. Mati Ullah and assured him all kind of assistance. He also nominated Professor Mati as head of Burn Unit and assured that it would be facilitated with all accessories within couple of months and it would be made more beneficial for burn patients.
