13 shopkeepers fined for profiteering
FAISALABAD: Special Price Control Magistrate Riaz Hussain Anjum has fined 13 shopkeepers on charge of profiteering.
A spokesman for the local administration said that the price control magistrate visited various parts of the city and checked prices of daily-use commodities. He found 13 shopkeepers involved in overcharging, therefore, he handed them down with a total fine of Rs 30,000 and warned that they would be sent behind bars if they failed to mend their way of profiteering.
Power shutdown: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has issued a shutdown schedule due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines.
According to the schedule, power supply from Lahore Road feeder emanating from 132-KV Chiniot grid station will remain suspended from 6am to 7pm while Mongi Road feeder originating from 132-KV Gojra grid station, Chenab Steel, Ghazi Abad, Rehmat Abad, Ashraf Abad and Chenab Fabrics feeders emanating from 132-KV Nishatabad grid station, Mughal Pura feeder originating from 132-KV Chiniot Road grid station and Manzoor Park feeder emanating from 132-KV Old Thermal grid station, Jandanwala feeder originating from 132-KV Millat Road grid station, Rasheed Abad, Rehmat Town, General Hospital and Jalal Street feeders emanating from 132-KV University grid station will observe shutdown from 9am to 2pm on Monday (April 8).

Addressing the participants of 46th Common Training Course of Civil Services Academy Lahore, he said that the basic objective of the FCCI was to bridge and liaise between business community, government and international community in addition to protect the legitimate interests of its members.
He said that he had given vision of triple “E” which comprised economy, export and education.
He told that the core economic strength of Faisalabad was textile and other sectors were also making modest contribution to the overall economy of Pakistan. He further said that Zafar Iqbal Sarwar, an active member of the FCCI, had prepared draft of the textile policy of the government. We had repeated meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Finance Minister Asad Umar to apprise them about the issues being faced by the textile sector.
