MANSEHRA: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has withdrawn a case to de-seat tehsil nazim and eight disgruntled tehsil councillors from Election Commission of Pakistan after they tendered an unconditional apology to the party leaders on Monday.

“We have withdrawn case against our eight councillors, and tehsil nazim from ECP after all approached the party leadership and sought apology,” Zafar Mehmood, the district president of PML-N told reporters.

Tehsil Nazim Umar Farooq and eight councillors met with PML-N Senator Lt-Gen (r) Salahuddin Tirmizi, MNA Mohammad Sajjad Awan for reconciliation and pleaded that they would never betray the party and want to be in party fold.

“All pledged their loyalty to the party and we accepted their request to remain in the party fold,” said Zafar Mehmood.

He said that the party lawyer appeared before the ECP and withdrew the case against them.

Umar Farooq and eight male and female councillors of PML-N bypassing party leadership had entered into a verbal agreement with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the latter was elected as tehsil nazim with their support last January.
