CDA to send 5 Christian workers to Vatican City
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will send five Christian employees to Vatican City for performing their religious rituals on the expense of the Authority.
The computerised balloting was carried out amongst Christian employees of the Authority here at the CDA Headquarters on Monday.
The balloting ceremony was also attended by Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA Amer Al Ahmed while Member Estate, Director General (Administration) of the Authority, General Secretary, CDA Labour Union (CBA) and office bearers of Union were also present in the ceremony.
The CDA chairman punched the computer key for initiating balloting and congratulated the employees declared successful in the draw. On this occasion, CDA chairman said that Christian community played a vital role in the development of the federal capital and deserves appreciation for the services they rendered to keep the city in tidy condition while preserving its green identity.
He further said that Islam is protecting the right of minorities and is also grant them equal opportunity to participate in their religious rituals as every citizen have the right to profess and participate in its religious activities freely.
It is pertinent to mention here that CDA also gives pay bonus to Christian employees regularly on the eve of Easter and Christmas. Moreover, in order to share the joys of religious festivities of Christian community, CDA organise Christmas and Easter Festival and many other programs for their entertainment. The successful five employees also include a female and they proceed to Vatican City this year.
