More worried about country’s future than my own, says Nawaz
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said he is more worried about the future of Pakistan than his health.
In his meeting with PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, the former premier said he could only pray for the country.
He thanked the people of Pakistan for their love, concern and prayers for his health, saying that this love and prayers were the source of his strength.
He said that he values the kind gesture by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of visiting him.
Shahbaz Sharif said his worries about Nawaz's health multiply with every meeting after witnessing his rapidly deteriorating health. He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was responsible for Nawaz not going to an appropriate hospital. The government believed that mere lip-service would exonerate them from responsibility of current medical state of the former PM.
Shahbaz said although Nawaz's health deteriorating, his spirits were higher than ever and his resolve was getting stronger by the day. Meanwhile, members of the Sharif family including Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday visited Kot Lakhpat jail to inquire about the health of former prime minister. Maryam and opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz, were also president.
Maryam Nawaz said she met her father at Kot Lakhpat jail, where he continued to have angina pain and the latest recurrence of chest pains was on Monday night. In a tweet, the due to Nawaz Sharif's present condition, she would not be able to have a meeting with him on Thursday. She also thanked people for their love and support.
