Inquiry against seven Excise officials initiated
PESHAWAR: Secretary Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Riaz Khan Mahsud on Friday initiated an inquiry against seven personnel of the department over alleged corrupt practices.
In a statement released to the media, the excise secretary said that bribery and corrupt practices led to distrust of the general public in public services delivery. The official said the inquiry was a result of a complaint filed by a citizen who had levelled corruption allegations against the suspended mobile squad of Excise Department in Charsadda. The suspended squad comprised of a sub-inspector, two assistant sub-inspectors, three constables and a driver.
A committee headed by Deputy Secretary Excise Rehan Khattak was formed to investigate the matter and to submit the report within 15 days.
