While the PM intends to depoliticise bureaucracy, his wish can only be translated into reality if politicians avoid seeking favours from government servants for petty political gains. The bureaucrats are government servants and must perform their duties, according to the law. If all pillars of the state remain within their domain and heads of all entities function within their jurisdiction, there will be no need for the PM to isolate or insulate bureaucrats.
If the PM wants better performance from civil servants, he will have to develop a relationship of trust and provide them with protection from pressures from government ministers and members.
