Two suspected robbers beaten up in Korangi
Two suspects allegedly robbing people were caught and beaten up by a group of people in the Korangi area on Sunday. Police claimed that three suspects riding a motorcycle were attempting to rob a general store in the Bilal Colony neighbourhood.
Upon hue and cry raised by the shopkeeper, some people gathered on the spot and they managed to catch two of the suspects as the third one escaped under the cover of firing. Police said the crowd had severely beaten up the suspects, but the law enforcers reached the site and took both the suspects in their custody. The police also seized the weapons and bullets they found on the suspects.
The suspects were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and from there the police took them to the police station where cases were registered against them. Police said that a separate case would be registered against the public for taking the law into their own hands. Further investigations are under way.
