KARACHI: Army won the 14th National Men’s Netball Championship 2015 when they defeated Pakistan Air Force (PAF) 31-29 in the final held at Hamidi Hall at Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on Sunday.
Muhammad Zahid, Usman Bashir and Mehboob Shah played well for the soldiers.
Earlier, WAPDA beat Sindh 29-27 in the play-off for the third place to lift bronze medal thanks to fine performances from Yawar and Abid Ali of WAPDA.
The players who got into the pool of all star players of the championship include: Mohammad Akhtar (PAF), Mohammad Zahid (Army), Mehboob Shah (Army), Usman Bashir (Army), Abdullah (Sindh), Prain Shahzad (PAF) and Naseeb Raza (WAPDA).
At the closing ceremony, Army women team won the exhibition match when they defeated Islamabad diplomatic team 9-5.
