Landikotal residents protest against Khyber administration, MNA

LANDIKOTAL: A large number of residents here on Sunday staged a protest against the Khyber Agency administration and Member National Assembly (MNA) Shah Jee Gul Afridi for failure to serve the people. The protest was organised by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Khyber Agency chapter, to urge the MNA and local authorities to work for the welfare of residents of Landikotal. JUI-F leader Mufti Ijaz Shinwari led the protest held in Landikotal Bazaar. The protesters carried banners and chanted slogans against the government. They gathered at the Bacha Khan Chowk where JUI-F Fata leaders and local elders made speeches. The speakers alleged that MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi and officials of the political administration were least bothered to address the problems being faced by the people.
Mufti Ijaz Shinwari criticised the MNA and said he had been unable to honour the pledges made by him in the election campaign. Maulana Sher Haider urged the people to raise their voice against corruption in Khyber Agency. Maulana Mujahid Shinwari also spoke on the occasion.
