After 155 rounds of talks between the two countries and India with a budget of Rs55,000 crore for its war machine, and in spite of the 18 resolutions passed by UN in favour of Kashmiris, guerrilla war is the only option left for freedom of Kashmir. This struggle can never be dubbed as terrorism.
Supreme Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and chairman Muttahida Jehad Council Syed Salahuddin said this while talking to The News.
He said that there is no terrorism in Kashmir like in the Middle East. He said the UN allows any nation to fight for its right to self determination and Kashmiris are exercising their right. He said that historically, ethically and legally Jammu and Kashmir are part of Pakistan. “We have waged a struggle for 42 years but since 1989 we have taken up arms.” He dismissed the impression that he was inviting international terrorism and said “we are fighting a lawful battle for independence”.
He said construction of 300km roads for military purposes in India speaks volumes for expansionist designs of India.
Salahuddin said that they neither recognised Simla Accord nor Lahore Declaration. “It is the responsibility of UN to fulfil our aspirations.”
He warned that they could explode all the dams in the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK). “Not only that if situation demands we can make anything of interest to India our target.”
“We will not accept any change in Pakistan policy.” He dispelled any chance of an Indo-Pak war. “It is also certain that in the tall mountains India will not be able to stem our rising tide.” He criticised the apologetic policies of Pakistan in spite of being a nuclear power.
He further said that we are fighting for plebiscite in the valley. He demanded plebiscite in Gilgit-Baltistan too. “In Kashmir we can take part in election held only under international supervision.” He did not link the situation of Middle East with Kashmir. He said that there it is the result of the policies of autocratic rulers, like in Libya, Iraq, Yemen etc but there is nothing such in Kashmir. He pinned high hopes on the youth and predicted that these cadres will do anything to liberate their motherland.
He urged Mian Nawaz Sharif to facilitate the people of AJK and Gilgit and Baltistan but warned him against making these areas as provinces of Pakistan.
