Seminar on ‘Youth Engagement in Peace Building’
KOHAT: The FATA University, FR Kohat, in collaboration with the Islamic Research Institute, IIU, Islamabad, organized a one-day National Seminar on ‘‘Youth Engagement in Peace Building and National Integration in the Light of Paigham-e-Pakistan’’.
Qaiser Jamal Afridi, Member National Assembly (NA-47), was the chief guest on the occasion. The seminar was attended by the faculty, staff and students of the FATA University, teachers and students of boys and girls’ colleges, government officials, local Maliks and religious scholars of the Darra Adam Khel area. Eminent scholars including Dr. Ziaul Haq and Dr. Aftab Ahmed from the Islamic International University, Islamabad, Dilawar Khan CEO, CODE, Pakistan, Nasim Achakzai, University of Lahore, and Maulana Shafi Ullah, Khateeb Jama Masjid, Kohat, highlighted their views regarding the aims and objectives of Paigham-e-Pakistan. All the speakers emphasized that the youth should be engaged in healthy activities so that they can play a vital role in peace building activities in the country. They said that we should adopt our lives as per Islamic teachings and the Constitution of Pakistan and should have collective efforts with mutual consensus to safeguard the nation against divisiveness.
The chief guest, Qaiser Jamal, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. Tahir Shah, also spoke on the occasion and applauded the efforts made by the organisers in organizing such a wonderful seminar at the FATA University.
An MoU was also signed between the FATA University and the University of Lahore on the occasion. According to this MoU, the University of Lahore will arrange various types of training for the students of the FATA University. At the end, the vice chancellor distributed shields among the speakers.
