13 in race for 1000m title today

LAHORE: Seven Fair Magic Plate Races are scheduled to be held at the Lahore Race Club on Sunday with the sixth and seventh being seen as the main races.

Sans the seventh race which is of 1000-metres, all of the others are of 800 metres.

The first race which is in class VII and division-V has 16 participants and a five years thoroughbred Killing Eye is believed to be the best. Neel Kanwal and Look At Me are another ones that could surprise the favourite.

The second class-VII and division-V race has 14 listed horses but all eyes are on Desert Rain for a win. But Music Boy and Silent Warrior would be the trouble makers for the favouirte. A 10 years old thoroughbred Afzaal Choice is the favourite in the third race which is of Class-VII and Division-IV V. The field of 17 horses also has Lead Them Home and Buzkushi. A four years aged equine Safdar Princess is the favouirte with close competition coming from Ok Dear and Dil De Ruba in this Class-VII and Division III and 1V race being participated by 18 ponies.

The fifth race of Class-VII and Division-II and III that have 14 ponies have three years old pony Bajwa Choice as the favourite with Kastoori and Rashk-e-Qamar may offer tough challenge or maybe take second place or record an upset.

The sixth race with a field of seven ponies in class-VII and division-I would have competition between a equine four years age Irish breed Keep It Up, Race The Moon and Spare Parts.

The last 1000 metres race of Class-VI and Division-II, III and IV have a field of 13 ponies but eight year old equine which is an American Breed Malik’s Love is favourite. Mighty Satiana and Look Twice, are the other that would pose threat to the favourite.
