OKARA: Basirpur police have arrested one of the three accused in a dacoity-cum-rape case.
Talking to newsmen at his office here on Thursday, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana said that three dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Shahid at Khabbianwali and made off with cash and valuables about two months ago. The dacoits also raped Shahid’s wife Samina. The DPO said that police raided and arrested the gang ringleader and shifted him to the Sahiwal Central Jail where the victim woman would identify him.
LOADSHEDDING IRKS PEOPLE: The city and adjoining areas have been facing over 18 hours loadshedding.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, the people, including shopkeepers, said that the loadshedding had made their lives miserable. They said that water supply also remained suspended during the power loadshedding. The shopkeepers said that the loadshedding was affecting their business. They questioned about the Gadani power project, Nandipur power project and Qadirabad power project from where not a single unit of electricity had so far been generated. They criticised the PML-N leadership for not fulfilling their promise of ending the loadshedding which they had made with the people during the election campaign.
