Land record centres staffers observe strike
MULTAN: Staffers of the Punjab land record centres observed complete strike against the alleged manhandling of their colleagues by the Anti-Corruption Establishment. A Punjab Land Records Authority spokesperson said that work remained suspended in nine additional centres and 50 Qanoongo centres in protest against the ACE alleged maltreatment with two PLRA officials. The spokesperson said that more than 2,000 workers and officials of the PLRA took part in the protest across the province. He said that the ACE officials allegedly manhandled the Fateh Jang Land Record Centre assistant and the service centre in-charge when they appeared before them in an inquiry. Meanwhile, PLRA Director General Zafar Iqbal met the ACE director general and told him the arrest of PLRA employees was illegal. The ACE director general assured him of conducting an inquiry into the matter.
