LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday granted five-day remand to Kasur police of 17 accused arrested for delivering derogatory speeches against the higher judiciary and inciting people for violence in a public rally.

The ATC prosecutor Abul Rauf Wattu argued before the court that the accused made derogatory speeches against the judiciary and other state institutions. He stated that the accused were nominated in two different FIRs and two more applications are pending in the police station. He informed the court that video evidence is available. However, video comparison is yet to be made.

The prosecution also moved another application seeking registration of case against 10 other accused and making them part of the investigation. The prosecutor stated that the ATC sections were included in the FIR so the accused exonerated by the local magistrate should now be treated under Anti-Terrorism Act. The court accepted the application moved by the prosecution. The court after hearing the arguments of the prosecutor granted remand of the accused for five days.
