KARACHI: Navy demolished Sindh Police by an innings and 30 runs on the third day of their three-day Patron’s Trophy Grade-II match here at UBL Ground No 1 on Sunday.
After being forced to follow on Sindh Police began their second innings at 151-7 and were bowled out for 181. Left-arm spinner Fawad Khan captured 5-59, while Nasir Awais grabbed 3-59, ending with figures of 9-119 in the match.
Navy posted 408-6 in their first innings. In reply, Sindh Police were skittled out for 197.
This was the first win from Navy. Sindh, who are yet to open their account, tasted their first defeat after they had held Customs to a draw in their first round show.
In a Group D clash, at Stags Ground, Lahore, Dollar East produced their second successive win when they overwhelmed Services Industries by seven wickets.
Dollar East chased 137-run target after losing three wickets. Gulraiz Sadaf made 55 and Azeem Ghumman struck unbeaten 46.
Services Industries, who conceded 19 runs lead, were folded for 155 in their second innings after starting the day at 80-3. Shahan Akram got 3-21. Rehan Rafiq, Amjad Manzoor and Bilawal Iqbal claimed two wickets each.
Services Industries posted 244-5 in their first innings. In reply, Dollar East piled up 263.
The Group A meeting here at NBP Sports Complex between K-Electric and Medicam ended in a draw with the former taking three points due to first innings lead.
In response to K-Electric’s first innings total of 354-5 declared, Medicam perished for 128 with Wajahat Khan scoring 31. Shahbaz Ahmad took 5-42.
After follow-on, Medicam reached 115-3 in their second innings till the end of the game.
Jahangir Javed belted unbeaten 55 with nine fours. Shehbaz Ahmed picked 2-46, finishing with figures of 7-88 in the match.
Here at RLCA Ground, the match between Saudi Cricket International and Customs also ended in a draw with the latter gaining three points due to first innings lead.
Having conceded a 60-run lead, Saudi Cricket International piled up 310-7 in their second innings till the end of the show.
Rao Waqar hammered unbeaten 65 with eight fours. Adnan Baig struck 58 with ten fours. Mohammad Zohaib belted 42-ball 53 with nine fours and a six. Irfan Khan got 3-95, for match-figures of 6-165.
Earlier, Customs started their first innings at 376-8 and were folded for 390.
Naeem Babar got 4-68. Kamran Qadri captured 3-66.
Saudi Cricket International posted 330-7 in their first innings.
Rain once interrupted the Group B matches in Rawalpindi. At Army Ground, Army played a draw against Humak Engineering as not a single delivery was bowled in the entire day.
Army posted 368-8 and 64-1. Humak Engineering piled up 385 in their first innings which helped them gain three points.
At Pindi Stadium, the show between Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Omar Associates also ended without any result. CDA scored 268 and 88-2. Omar Associates made 307 in their first innings.
The Group C match between Candyland and Asim Textile at Jinnah Stadium Sialkot also ended in a draw as not a single ball was bowled in the whole day due to rain. Candyland piled up 406-7 in their first innings. In reply, Asim Textile accumulated 366-4.
Brighto Paints pulled off a draw against Railways at Model Town Greens Ground, Lahore.
Brighto Paints scored 322 and 245-9. Railways managed 242 and 178-3.
The match between Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Income Tax also ended in a draw with the latter taking three points at LCCA Ground, Lahore.
HEC posted 122 and 427-6 declared. Income Tax made 235 and 172-3.
