SHO martyred in Kohat clash with proclaimed offender
KOHAT: Station House Officer (SHO) was killed in clash with a proclaimed offender (PO) in Spina Khawra area here early Tuesday, official sources said. They said that acting on a tip-off about the presence of a proclaimed offender (PO), the police party led by SHO Abbas Ali raided a house in Spina Khawra area.
As the police party raided the house, the PO identified as Ali opened fire on the cops. As a result, Abbas Ali received few bullets in his chest and was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohat where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police returned the fire and killed the outlaw on the spot. The law-enforcers seized a Kalashnikov rifle and several cartridges. A large number of people including Deputy Inspector General, Kohat Range, Awal Khan, District Police Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat, Member Provincial Assembly Ziaullah Bangash, Superintendent of Police Jamil Akhtar, SP Investigation Jehanzeb Khan and other police officials attended his funeral prayers at the Police Lines. The body of the martyred cop was shifted to his ancestral area Sadda in Lower Kurram Agency for burial.
