ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has arrested Shaheen Ahmed Satti, an employee of the Senate of Pakistan and allegedly the main accused in Senate Secretariat Employees Cooperative Housing Society (SSECHS) Islamabad, on charges of corruption and corrupt practices, cheating public at large (misuse and embezzlement of the funds of the society).
Shaheen Ahmed Satti has been accused of the corruption in connivance with Mussarat Abbas Shah Naqvi, Additional Secretary Senate and Muhammad Akram, another employee of the Senate. They have been accused of misappropriating huge funds of SSECHS and depriving the Senate employees of millions of their hard-earned money.
The major points raised in audit report were incomplete books of accounts, failure on the part of ex-management and ex-purchase committee to hold its meetings, indulging of society management in litigation and committing irregularities in purchase of land. The accused are alleged of misuse and embezzlement in the Society funds to the tune of Rs92 million approximately.
