Political turmoil ahead: Hashmi
MULTAN: Senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said Tuesday Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan would be next target of political victimisation.
Addressing a press conference at Multan Press Club, he said vulgar practice of vote snatching were repeated in Senate.
Hashmi predicted that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and opposition leader Khurshid Shah won't be able to concur on the caretaker setup. “Soon the caretaker government would be formed without consultation of the prime minister and leader of the opposition. The Election Commission of Pakistan will intervene, but eventually the Supreme Court of Pakistan will form the caretaker government,” he warned the political leadership.
Hashmi said the caretaker setup would postpone the next general elections for indefinite period.
PPP chairperson Asif Ali Zardari would be the prime target of political victimisation soon after the formation of caretaker government. Nothing would be in the hands of Imran Khan. He will just pay thanks on clearance of his Bani Gala house, he said.
He predicted that Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz would be in jail after the formation of caretaker government. He feared anarchy in the country. All forces must realise the country was being driven to destruction and anarchy. He said he was loyal to Pakistan Army and very much committed to the safety of the country.
Hashmi said dissolution of the parliament was planned two and half years ago but he exposed the whole plan and sacrificed his seat after resigning from the National Assembly. He complained to PML-N leadership that they did not even consult him in present crisis.
Hasmi said the Monday’s Senate election was the result of PML-N’s poor preparations because the party had forgotten the conspiracy which was hatched two and half years ago.
He said the constitutional violations had become a fashion. He again appealed to the powerful forces, “You are superior and we are inferior. I request the Chief Justice of Pakistan to protect the constitution.”
“The Supreme Court has repeatedly violated the constitution in 70 years history of the country,” he added. Hashmi appealed to the chief justice to summon him to explain if he (Hashmi) is committing contempt of court.
