LAHORE: IGP Arif Nawaz Khan said IT reforms in modern policing were yielding positive results and also helping in changing the ‘Thana culture’. He expressed these views Tuesday while addressing the 52 senior officers of 108th National Management Course. He added that following policy of zero tolerance, crackdowns on anti-social elements and terrorist organisations is continuing for protection of lives and properties. He lauded the National Action Plan and expressed satisfaction over its implementation. He revealed that police service centres have been established in all districts of Punjab for facilitation of people where they are enjoying facilities of FIR copy, police character certificate, registration of tenants with other 13 facilities under one roof. He said comprehensive strategic steps are being taken to enhance efficiency of force and existence of specialised units like CTD, SPU, Dolphin, Riverine and anti-riot force have improved Punjab Police image manifold. Punjab Additional IG Operations Aamir Zulfiqar Khan briefed the participants of delegation about operational method, IT reforms, law and order of Punjab Police and also steps taken against extremism and terrorism.
