Probe ordered against AEO on female teacher’s harassment allegation

JHANG: District Education Authority’s Administrator/Deputy Commissioner Mudasar Riaz Malik Saturday summoned a male assistant education officer (AEO) over a female teacher’s harassment’s complaint.

All Teachers Alliance and Punjab Teachers Union District Chapter Women Wing’s president Farkhanda Usman and victim teacher Rukhsana Parveen of Government Girls Primary School Abadai Kalasan told the DC that newly recruited AEO Bilal Shah succeeded in getting the charge of female education centre of Civil Lines areas’ public schools and increased his unnecessary visits to the girl's school without any justification.

She said when she informed the higher offices about his activities, he started harassing her by calling repeated explanations and now he wanted to replace her with another junior teacher.

The DC summoned the AEO and relevant officials. When contacted, DEA’s CEO Sohail Azhar said he also directed the DEO (Elementary Women) Mrs Kausar to probe the

matter and take strict action against the AEO if he was found guilty of wrongdoing.
