LAHORE: A solo exhibition of paintings by Abbas Kamangar, a brilliant young artist from Karachi, was inaugurated by noted artist and curator Muhammed Javed at Oyster Art Gallery, Off Ghalib Market, Gulberg, on Friday.
The exhibition showcases mesmerising water colour paintings by Abbas which are all about the Dervishes and the devotees of saints with a highly skillful depiction of their various spiritual stances and dances.
The paintings are, in fact, a serene journey through the world of the devotees of the Sufi saints , men and women alike. The paintings are an impressive representation of the moods and activities of the Sufi saints' devotees in various states of spiritual , physical and emotional frames of mind.
