IGP assures support to KP Food Safety Authority

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Mahsud paid a visit to the Directorate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halaal Food Authority here on Thursday.

Director General Food authority Riaz Khan Mahsud received him at the newly established building of the authority.

Salahuddin Mahsud appreciated the establishment of the food safety authority and termed it the need of the hour.

Referring to the uniqueness of the authority, the director general explained that authority would soon be made operational in seven divisions of the province.

Seeking the support of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, he said the police could work side by side with officers of the divisional offices to implement the policies.

Salahuddin Mahsud addressed the newly recruited staff of the authority. He assured the director general and all the officers of the authority that working with KP Food Safety Authority was his first priority to make sure supply of safe food to general public.

“It is my core priority to extend my department’s support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halaal Food Authority. I direct all police officials to keep close liaison with divisional offices of the authority,” the IGP said.
