The beautiful Swat Valley is covered by illegal encroachments that have tarnished the beauty and serenity of the region. Illegal shops opened in the region have turned once picture perfect rivers into rivers of garbage. In addition, these shops and vendors have congested the already narrow roads, disturbing vehicular movement.
Several anti-encroachment drives have been launched in the past, but these drives do not lead to favourable outcomes. The authorities concerned must make an extra effort to protect the valley from such encroachments along its roads.
