Faisalabad to host int’l youth handball
FAISALABAD: The International South and Central Asia Youth Handball Championship would be played here from March 10 to 15 at courts of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).
The event will be held under the joint arrangements of District Sports Committee and Pakistan Handball Federation.In all 16 teams from eight different counties of men’s youth and junior players would participate in this championship.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Salman Ghani on Tuesday gave details of holding of the championship during a press conference. President Pakistan Handball Federal Muhammad Shafique, DSO Rana Hammad Iqbal and other office bearers of Pakistan, Punjab & District handball bodies on were also present on the occasion. DC informed that Pakistan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, Yeman and Sri Lankan teams would be the part of this championship. He told that comprehensive arrangements have been made for holding the championship successfully.
He added that international championship was being held second time in Faisalabad which was an honour for the city. DC also said that cultural show would also be held during the inaugural ceremony of handball championship.
