Magsi retains Cholistan jeep rally crown

BAHAWALPUR : Mir Nadir Magsi won the 13th Cholistan Desert jeep rally and retained the title of this rally on Sunday night which has now emerged as the country biggest motor sports event. Mir Nadir Magsi, the most popular driver of event, covered the 455km long track in 4 hours 32 minutes and 9 seconds. Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad who remained first in qualifying round secured second position by covering the track in 4 hours ,37 minutes and 35 seconds and Jaffar Magsi got third position in this main competition of Prepared Class Vehicles Category in 4 hours 39 minutes and 21 minutes. While the women category title was won by renowned woman driver Tushana Patel she covered 90km track in Stock class category race in 2 hours 41 minutes and Asima Siddiqui got second position and young woman driver from Multan Momal Saeed Khan remained third. Stock Class Vehicle Category A was won by Mansoor Alam who covered 220km track in 2 hours, 39 minutes and 52 seconds. Naushirwan Tiwana remained 2nd and Noor Nabi got third position. B Category of Stock Vehicle was won by Zain Magsi, Afzal Haq got second position and Sajjad Qureshi remained third . Syed Mobeen Ahmad won C Category competition of Stock Class vehicles, Hassan Jhandeer got second position and Haris Khan got third position. After receiving the title trophy held a grand prize distribution ceremony organised by Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) at Fort Derawer Mir Nadir Magsi termed the event as fantastic and desired that this rally should be extended to Sindh and Balochistan province.
