‘New sports gymnasiums equippedwith modern facilities’

LAHORE: Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan stated that as many as 50 gymnasium halls are being constructed and some of them are near completion in different cities of the Punjab province; he said this while addressing an important meeting of Divisional Sports Officers at National Hockey Stadium on Friday.

The concerned officials gave a thorough briefing to Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan about the under-construction gymnasium halls in the province. Aamir Jan said that these gymnasium halls are being equipped with all modern facilities. “We are constructing sports venues as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. All the contractors have been advised to focus on the quality of construction work”, he added. He further said that all the sports projects are being built as per international standard so that our players can prepare themselves properly for global sports competitions. “Sports Board Punjab is raising more grounds and stadiums laced with floodlights. Our talented male and female players can express their potential through these mega sports facilities. These sports facilities will be opened for talented players in near future,” he added. Hanif Abbasi urges contractors to complete sports projects rapidly: Chairman Steering Committee Sports Punjab Hanif Abbasi presided over a couple of important meetings about the playfields, E-Libraries and gymnasium halls at National Hockey Stadium on Friday. Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan, Deputy Secretary Planning Tehmina Habib, Director Admin Javed Rasheed Chohan, DSO Rauf Bajwa and other top officials attended the meetings. Abbasi issued stern directions to contractors to complete the remaining sports playfields, E-Libraries and gymnasium halls as early as possible. “We are committed to complete all the sports projects within the stipulated time. No further delay will be tolerated in this regard,” he warned. Addressing the meeting, Abbasi said that sports is among the top priorities of Punjab govt. “Various sports projects have been launched in several cities under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif”.
