Joint task force formed for provision of safe medicines
Islamabad: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), together with the Punjab Health Department, has agreed to constitute a joint task force for implementation of a joint strategy for provision of safe and effective medications, and uninterrupted availability of lifesaving drugs.
A collaborative meeting of DRAP and Punjab Health Department was held in this connection, a press release issued by DRAP informs. Dr. Sheikh Akhter Hussain, the CEO of DRAP visited met Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Ali Jan.
Dr. Hussain briefed the participants about the steps to upgrade and strengthen DRAP. New regulatory amendments have been in line with WHO guidelines and international best practices. DRAP has also constituted a committee for interprovincial coordination.
