Aseefa to contest election from Lyari, Tando Allahyar
ISLAMABAD: The PPP decided to nominate Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari as its candidate from two seats in the upcoming general election in 2018 from Sindh.
Assefa, who recently celebrated her 25th birthday, is expected to contest elections from Lyari (NA-248, Karachi) and Tando Allahyar (NA-223, Hyderabad-VI). The PPP has started preparations for the contest of Assefa and it is expected that she will visit both the constituencies and hold meetings with party workers.
Her vote is registered in Tando Allahyar. PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto contested election from Tando Allahyar in 1970 and 1977. His daughter Benazir Bhutto also contested elections of 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1997 from the same constituency besides from her hometown Larakana.
Currently, Abdul Sattar Bachani of the PPP is MAN from NA-223 and he had secured 91,956 votes in 2013 elections. His closet rival was Raheela Magsi of the PML-N, who secured 68,118 votes.
