THE Friends of the Shaukat Khanum in collaboration with Pakistan’s leading fashion and entertainment fraternity are back once again with the annual Festival of Life. An all-day carnival for families that promises to be even bigger than last year, the Festival of Life will be held at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore on March 8, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm.
All proceeds raised from the festival will go towards the construction of the second Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Peshawar. Indeed the Festival of Life hopes to raise funds to help complete the construction of the hospital and enable the facility to be operational by December 2015.
The festival promises to be a full day of fun, fashion, festivities and compassion. As per 2013 and 2014 iterations of the festival, the event will include an exciting fashion lounge organised by the prestigious Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) with clothes donated from over 60 leading designers and retail brands including: MARIA.B., HSY, Nida Azwer, Sana Salman, Sublime by Sara, Sania Maskatiya, The House of Kamiar Rokni, Karma, Sana Safinaz, Faraz Manan, Mehdi, Shehla Chatoor, Kayseria, Khaadi and many more.
Patrons at the festival will be able to purchase trendy apparel at special discounted rates of upto 70% off their original price. Additionally, the festival will feature a food court and a festive play area for children set up by the party planners. A live musical performance by the acclaimed percussion ensemble Quadrum and a special raffle with dozens of exciting prizes will also enliven the event.
At the Festival of Life, a number of renowned celebrities are also expected to make appearances of their solidarity with the event’s cause. The celebrity guests will also walk hand in hand with the cancer patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a special celebrity walk.
