Crackdown launched against illegal power connections

CHARSADDA: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) on Tuesday launched a crackdown against illegal electricity connections at Umarzai in Charsadda, official sources said. The Pesco team headed by Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) Tehseenul Haq raided various localities in Umarzai. They removed several illegal connections. The crackdown against the power thieves was without any discrimination as no one was spared.
Talking to the reporters, SDO Tehseenul Haq said Pesco would try to overcome the power losses. He said the Pesco team recovered Rs3.7 million from electricity thieves. He said this amount was better than the one recovered last year.
