RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, on Tuesday declared as illegal the auction of 108 kanal land in Dhoke Syedan by the Military Estate Office (MEO) and ordered that the land be utilised for public welfare only after approval from the president. Justice Khalid Mehmood Malik announced the decision after the decision was reserved by Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan in October 2017, nine years after the case was filed in 2009. The LHC bench directed that MEO office return the money to the people who had taken plots in the auction.
