Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) is in the process of acquiring more land in Bara Kahu to accommodate remaining members of a Membership Drive, Phase-I. The additional plots will be available after the completion of said process.

According to an information placed in the National Assembly, the plot position of Bara Kahu Housing Scheme is tentative as the final layout plan of the sector has not been approved by the CDA as yet. "In view of this, Provisional Offer Letters (POL) have been issued by keeping a safety margin to avoid any shortfall due to variation in the final plan," the information said.

The House was informed that due to exchange of 700 Kanals of land in the sector, the layout plan is being revised for which the services of NESPAK have been acquired to complete the task as earliest. As soon as final layout plan is prepared and approved by CDA, the remaining plot will be allotted, accordingly.

The House was also informed the settlement with land provider is on final stage. Further, with the intervention of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the issues of the scheme including the planning issues of Hills land, payment of Rs680 million and the start of work has been resolved.

The plane land is being provided by M/s Green Tree. An addendum to the agreement dated 01-04-2009 is being placed in forthcoming meeting of Executive Committee / Board of Directors of Housing Foundation.

The agreement between Housing Foundation and M/s Green Tree was made on April 01, 2009 and M/s NESPAK was appointed as consultant in the December, 2014. Suitability of land was discussed in the year 2016 while approval from CDA was accorded on April 2, 2013.

M/s Green Tree is being provided plain land in lieu of unsuitable land as earmarked by M/s NESPAK. In clause-13 of the agreement, it was clearly provided that land provider shall provide 55% of un-useable area and in case of shortfall of land, the land provider will provide additional land free of cost by itself.
