Dust in the wind
January 23, 2018
The ongoing work on the Peshawar BRT project has made the lives of residents miserable. In the absence of alternate routes, commuters find it difficult to reach their destination on time. Because of the persistent traffic congestion, commuters take hours to cover short distances. Many people are reluctant to go out because of all the turmoil caused by the haphazard construction.
This construction work has brought the daily lives of residents to a standstill. Additionally, after combating dengue, residents now have to deal with severe chest infection caused by air pollution which has been aggravated by the BRT construction. It’s particularly dangerous for infants, senior citizens and people suffering from asthma.
