Use of calligraphy to help promote Muslims’ soft image
Islamabad: Calligraphy is a great artistic and cultural heritage of the Muslims and the Ummah and Pakistan can promote their soft image by paying attention to this art's promotion.
This was stated by President Mamnoon Hussain talking to calligrapher of Masjid-e-Nabvi Ustad Shafiquz Zaman who along with a delegation called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday.
The President said it was a matter of honour for us that a Pakistani calligrapher had an opportunity to work in the Masjid-e-Nabvi (PBUH). "It has not only earned goodwill for Shafiquz Zaman but for the entire country," he added.
The president said young calligraphers will have an opportunity to explore modern trends of calligraphy through the works of Shafiquz Zaman. Noted calligrapher Wasil Shahid also presented a compilation of the work of Pakistani calligraphy to the president.
