Gang-rape bid foiled in Toba

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three accused attempted to gang rape a 14-year-old girl in Chak 252/GB on Tuesday night. Abdul Hameed told Rajana police that his daughter (A) was going to a village shop when accused Ahmad and his two accomplices forcibly took her to the house of Ahmad where they attempted to rape her. However, when she raised a hue and cry, villagers rushed to the scene and rescued her. Police have registered a case.

nurse deprived of cash: Two dacoits looted the Gojra THQ hospital head nurse Safia Zareen on Wednesday.

She told the Gojra city police that she was going to hospital in a rickshaw after withdrawing cash of Rs50,000 from the bank. Two motorcyclists intercepted the rickshaw driver at gunpoint near telephone exchange and snatched cash and mobile phone from her.

BUS GUTTED: A bus en route Jhang caught fire at Faisalabad-Gojra section of motorway on Wednesday. Fire gutted the bus completely. Bus driver Ghulam Abbas told that fire was caused by short-circuit and all passengers were safe in the incident.
