PTI to make a clean sweep in 2018 polls: Khattak

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Tuesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had become a dominant political force and would defeat all the political rivals to register a clean sweep in the upcoming general elections.

He was addressing a public gathering in constituency PK-10, Badaber, here.

Provincial Ministers for Information Shah Farman, Minister for Environment Ishtiaq Urmarh, Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Pir of Manki Sharif Sayedul Ameen and District Member Raza Shah also addressed the gathering, said handout.

The chief minister inaugurated the upgraded Warsak Lift Canal’s Remodeling and Pump House.

The project would cost Rs2504.69 million and would ensure sufficient water, irrigating thousands of barren land of the area.

Pervez Khattak said that the people were aware of the politics of deceit by the politicians in the past.

“People voted different political parties on different catchy slogans. One party used roti, kapra and makan, the other party used the name of Pakhtun and an infamous religio-political party used the name of Islam for their deceitful politics to gain their self-centric goals,” he said, adding, “This was history and the politics of deceit and delusion bamboozling the innocent people would not work this time.”

He added that the youth voting PTI would force a defeat to these political forces.

He drew a comparison between PTI and other political forces, adding that PTI adhered to the agenda for change and other political forces exploited the people on catchy slogans. He said the self-centric politicians divided the poor and ruled them. There were different standard for rich and poor and the politicians usurped the poor of their rights and committed injustices against them, he said, adding, the PTI raised the level of awareness of the people and that was the main reason the people were joining PTI in droves.

Pervez Khatak said the PTI was dedicated to the cause of poor, providing them justice and committed to the formation of a true Islamic society in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It gave a system having inbuilt mechanism for the delivery to the expectations of the people, he added.

The chief minister, congratulating the people, said that the project after completion would change the destiny of the people of the area.

The recent success in NA-4 was a clear manifestation of the upward trend of popularity of PTI, he said, adding that the youth-backed PTI was out there for the national development and prosperity.
