Ali, Asim in Malaysian Tour No1 quarters

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ali Shah Bukhari and Asim Khan qualified for the quarter-finals of the $5000 Malaysian Tour No1 at Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia on Tuesday. Ali stunned fourth seed Valentino Bong from Malaysia 7-11, 11-4, 2-11, 11-3, 11-7 in 42 minutes in the first round. He will now face qualifier Guhan Senthilkumar from India in the quarters. Seventh seed Asim beat unseeded Ryan Pasqual from Malaysia 11-7, 11-5, 11-3 in the first round to face top seed Addeen Idrakie from Malaysia.Pakistan’s unseeded Zahir Shah lost to second seed Geoffrey Demont from France 6-11, 11-9, 7-11, 6-11 in the main round.
