DIR: Tourists from across the country thronged Upper Dir to enjoy snowfall as parts of the district received the second spell of snowfall of winter season.
A large number of the tourists from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar, Charsadda, Battagram, Timergara and other parts of the country enjoyed the snowfall and cold weather at Qashqary Dir.
A tourist, Azam, said they enjoyed the snowfall. “The entire countryside is covered in snow,” he said. He said the view of the snow-capped mountains was really breathtaking and spectacular. Families visited Lowari Tunnel, Qulandi, Zakhana, Panakot, Qashqary, Shahi and Usheri Dara to enjoy snowfall.
A family said they had come from Karachi to watch snowfall as they had never seen snowfall. “It is very fascinating to watch the snowfall,” a woman said.
Her 11-year-old daughter Kainat said that she was very excited to watch snowfall. She said that she had watched snowfall on television. However, she said it was a beautiful scene to watch the snowfall. “It looks as if particles of cotton are falling down from the sky,” Kainat said.
Arsalan Bhatti, a resident of Lahore, said that he along with his friends had come to visit the place as it was wonderful to watch snowfall in this beautiful valley in Upper Dir. He said that they had watched snowfall in Murree however it was more amazing in Upper Dir.
The tourists said the Tourism Department and government should provide facilities to promote tourism in Upper Dir.
Another tourist from Battagram said that they were enjoying the snowfall. He said it was presenting a wonderful scene watching the snow falling in this beautiful valley. He said the valley looked very attractive when flakes of snow fall from the sky.
The tourists asked the government and the Tourism Department to provide facilities at these remote tourist spots to attract tourists to enjoy its natural beauty.
