MANSEHRA: The police inaugurated the first-ever Criminal Watch Wing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming that it would bring down crime rate in the district.

“The outlaws in district would be tracked through the newly introduced wing that would bring down 70 percent crimes in the district,” said District Police Officer Shahzad Nadim Bukhari while speaking to media after inaugurating the wing here on Friday.

Police officers including Arif Javed, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ayaz and Inspector Jamal Zeb were also present on the occasion. The district police officer said that a record of lawbreakers of the last 15 years had been compiled and they would be summoned at the newly wing for digital data confirmation.

“We would get fingerprints, cellphone numbers, family history, computerised national identity card numbers of the target lawbreakers, which would be used in tracking them anytime and anywhere,” said Bukhari. He claimed the wing was a pioneer in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would bring down crime rate by more than 70 percent.

“We have prepared software that would analyse the previous crime history, acquittals and convictions of target offenders so that flaws in investigation systems could be removed,” said Bukhari.
