A collection of poems titled ‘Bemused’ by journalist Peerzada Salman was launched at The Second Floor (T2F) on Friday. Speaking at the event, renowned scholar, Dr Nomanul Haq, highlighted Salman’s achievements as a journalist and his transition to into a creative writer. He also delivered a talk on the importance of writing poetry in contemporary times.
Writer Michael Pearson read six poems from the book. His rendition of the poem ‘Girl from Fallujah’ was particularly liked by the audience. Salman has been associated with a national English language daily for some 14 years. He has also published Karachi - Legacies of Empires, a book which details the photographic history of old architecture of Karachi.
