Vigilance bodies at UC level approved

BHAKKAR: The Punjab government has approved setting up vigilance committees at union council level.
According to the notification, these bodies will consist of retired officers of judiciary, police, Armed Forces, educationists, traders, social workers, and members of civil society.
The notification has been issued in the wake of recent war on terrorism.
The rules and regulations of the committees have been spelled out in the notification in detail, and a special two-member committee including MPA Manazir Ali Ranjha has been constituted that would be responsible to form the bodies according to the guidelines.
The committee would forward the report in this regard to the Punjab Chief Minister at the earliest.
