‘Baba’ favoured all dictators, how nation can trust it: PPP
KARACHI: PPP leaders have said “Baba” gave verdicts in favour of all dictators and provided an unconstitutional cover to all martial laws.
In a joint statement on Sunday, PPP spokesman Chaudhry Manzoor said “Baba” should himself tell people what they should decide. After agreeing to the chief justice of Pakistan’s stance, how people believe that the “Baba of Supreme Court” delivers justice to all. He said from the Tameezuddin case till today, Baba always favoured dictators and the powerful.
The PPP spokesman said this “Baba” gave a partial verdict in the Nusrat Bhutto case and declared Ziaul Haq’s martial law lawful. “Baba” also showed discrimination after the assemblies of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif were dissolved. “Baba” himself accepted that the decision to hang Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was taken under pressure. “Baba” also supported Musharraf.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah welcomed the SC verdicts in PML-N and PTI cases. However, he termed the court verdicts in PPP cases unbalanced. He said the PPP always respected courts. He said Imran Khan was now not the leader of the youth. Instead, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was the leader of the youth and only he could steer the country out of crises.
Aitzaz Ahsan said the PML-N could not achieve its aim through mudslinging. He said Nawaz Sharif had no match in damaging himself. There was restlessness among the PPP opponents after it got active and it was evident to all. He said all PML-N leaders were confused at the moment. The NA speaker said there was a threat to the system, whereas the prime minister said all was well. He said the speaker should explain his statement in the assembly. He said the PPP would not leave the field open for anyone and would contest the upcoming polls with full might.
